What is wrong with my drinking water?

What types of technologies are available for purifying water?

The most commonly used methods of purification are Chlorination, Boiling, Ultra filtration (UF), Ultra Violet (UV) Disinfection and Reverse Osmosis (RO) Purification.

Why UV filters can’t guard you?

A UV water purification system only de-activate bacteria and viruses, but doesn’t remove harmful chemical and dissolved solids present in your drinking water. Only the Reverse Osmosis purification technology can ensure complete purification of your drinking water.

What is RO?

Reverse Osmosis works by forcing water against as semi permeable membrane. The excess invisible chemicals and dissolved solids present in the water are prevented from passing through this membrane only water molecules are allowed to pass through giving you pure and healthy drinking water.

What type of purifier should I use for purifying hard water?

You can use a water softener to make the hard water soft. In this process, you’ll be using Sodium Chloride or common salt to regenerate the ion exchange resin, resulting in making hard water soft. Another option is water treatment devices. You can use purifiers using Nano filtration and Reverse Osmosis technology to soften water.

What type of purifier should I use for purifying soft water?

In general, soft water is sweet in taste, but it has various other problems including, water chlorination, iron staining, bacterial contamination and others. To treat this type of water, you’ll need a smart water purifier that kills bacterial components and makes the impure water fit for drinking.

When should the filter cartridges be changed?

The decision depends on the capacity of your fridge filter, shower filter, and drinking water filter. Filtering capacity can range from 1000 litres to 6000 litres or more, depending on the model and brand you choose. Usually, filter cartridge replacements are to be done every six months.

How much energy will a water purifier consume?

The main electricity consumption happens when the boiler inside the dispenser gets heating up, and it usually takes up to 480W. In addition to this, the purifier consumes a small amount of electricity (less than 1W) to power on the lights.

How often should I clean the water purifier?

The frequency of changing your filter cartridges depend on water quality and usage. But, the cleaning depends on your hygienic preferences and cleaning time availability. Generally, the entire boiler tank must be cleaned at least once in a month during winters, and twice a month in summers due to high water usage.
